The Acorn Atom

The Atom was released in 1981 and was available as either a kit or ready made machine. It used a 6502 Processor at a clock speed of 1MHz with 2kB of RAM expandable to 12kb internally and 32kb using an external expansion unit. The ROM was standard at 8kb expandable to 16k, the unit had single channel sound along with a monochrome display that had a resolution of 32x16 for text 256x192 pixels for graphics.

The Atom had a quality typewriter-style keyboard and was equipped with a cassette interface for data storage and a RF output for connection to a TV.
